NEW PLYMOUTH.

This day.

Colonel Trimble addressed his constituents last evening at the Alexandra Hall. He referred to the Bankrupt Act of last session, and said he believed the country would be better without it or any act of the kind. He was opposed to an-. nexation and confederation, and spoke at some length against protection, and in favor of free trade. He supported the present Ministry because there were not better men in the House who could take their place, and he should continue to support, reserving to himself the right to oppose them on any question with which he differed in opinion. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed.
