This day.

A fire occurred yesterday in Mr N. Walker's millinery shop. The fire is supposed to have commenced at the bottom of the staircase. Mrs Walker and family made their escape by the verandah. The stock is all burnt, but the front of the building remains intact! The insurances are—Stock, £1600 in the Eoyal, £1500 in the Fire Association,S£soo in the National, and £500 in the Union ; building, £1500 in the Northern ; furniture and fixtures, £200 in the Eoyal. An inquest will probably be held.
