This day. Maori Reeiuits to the Blue Ribbon Army. Efforts are being made to induce Tawhiao to join the Blue Bibbon Army. Mere H. Taipari, residing at Ponsonby, with her husband Hamiora Mangakahia, has enlisted in the Blue Bibbon Army; she has been made a member of the ladies' committee in Auckland, and will make herself useful among the Maori women who visit her. Seiha Tinipoaka (Mrs Bloxsome), of Mercury Bay, has also assumed the blue ribbon, and will assist her husband in forming a Blue Ribbon Society at Mercury Bay. Last evening the Salvationists held a service at the foot of Grey street. The larrikins, notwithstanding the protestations of several citizens, burst through the ranks and trampled over some of the women, singing obscene songs. A policeman, who was appealed to, replied, " The Salvation Army bring it on themselves by holding open air gatherings,"and declinad to interfere.
