The following races were run after our report closed last night :— Wanganui Cup Handicap, of SCO sots ; second horse to receive 50sots from the stakes, third horse to save his stakes. Nominations 2sors; distance, 2\ miles. B. Bates' Poet (Derritt), 7st slbs ... 1 Tancred's Administrator (Chapman), 6st lOlbs .2 A. Standish's .Normanby (Williams), 7st lib ... ... ... ... 3 This was a splendid race ; Administrator forced the running, and led till entering the straight, when Derritt let out, and won by half a length. Time, 4mins 12 I.sth sees. Dividends—outside, £7 4s ; inside, £3 10s. The Hack Bace was won by H. Jackson's Mokora as he liked. Flying Handicap, USsovs; second horse to receire ISsovs from the stakes. Hinemoa ... 1 Consul 2 . Tim Whiffler... ... ... 3 Witiora, Leonossa, Okato, Satoria, Sweet Home, and Dusk also ran. Consul and Hinemoa proved coo fast for the rest of the horses, and ran a grand finish two lengths ahead of any of the others. Hinemoa won by a nose, the opinion being expressed that it was a dead heat. Time, 2mins 2fsecs. Dividend —inside totalisator, £3 12s ; outside, £4 3s. Maiden Hurdle Bace, 30sovs, 2 miles and a distance. Exchange ... 1 Denbigh ... ... ... 2 Kelpie ... ... ... 3 Halcione, Home Bule, Loch Lomond, Himalaya, and Sir William also ran. It was one of the best races during the day. The horses took the jumps capitally without a.mistake, and were in a heap at the finish. Hope, on Exchange, won com' fortably by half a length. Outside dividend, £13 8s; inside, £20 12s. It was a grand race.

Melboubne, Yesterday. At the second day's racing of the B.C. Autumn Meeting, the race for the Australian Cup, 2£ miles, resulted as fol. lows :— Morpeth 1 Sweet William .2 Le Grand ... ... ... 3 •Seventeen horses started, and after a grand race Morpeth won easily by two lengths. The time was 4mins. Doncaster got away at the start,' and made the running, with Morpeth next and Off Color next, until the finish, when Morpeth went to the front.and took ths lead without difficulty.
