Melbourne, Yesterday. Extensive Baiak Bobbery.
The London Chartered Bank of Australia, at Horsham, a town in the north-west of the colony, was broken into by burglars last night. The safe was found open, and over £5500 had been abstracted, chiefly in notes, the numbers of which are unknown.

Later.—This day. Further details regarding the burglary at Horsham Bank state that the safe was found locked, not open, as at first reported. It is evident;that the robber had duplicate keys. The clerk was sleeping on the bank premises, but heard no sound. So far r.o clue has been obtained to the perpetrator o£ the theft.
Sydney, This day. Arrived yesterday : Ringarooma from Auckland.
Nothing has yet been decided in reference to Mr Reid's resignation as Minister of Education.
Adelaide, Yesterday.
A destructive fire occurred to*day at Cowell Bros.' timber yards, Norwood, resuiting in the total destruction of the stock and premises. Some adjoining buildings were also destroyed. The insurances amount to £15,000, but the loss is considerably greater. The disaster is believed to be the work of an incendiary.

It has been ascertained that the individual insurances on the property destroyed by fire yesterday, at Norwood were small, though the total amounts are already stated to be £13,000.
