Quite a novel feature in educational difficulties has cropped up at Q-reymoutb. A few days ago Messrs Seabrook and Arnott, builders, gob three judgements against the Educationul Bonrdfor arrears for the erection of school buddings for which cheques had been given fire, months ago. Besides this, they are owed by the Board £303, some of HA havine been owing for twenty months. All this work wbb publicly tendered for and 75 per cent was to be paid in progress payments, of which the contractors received nothing. For several days attempts were made to put the bailiffs in the Education Board V offices, and tßke possetaion of the books and stationery, bat without avail,, and to-day the bailiff walked into the State school, and now a man is in possession, the children being sent home early. In th° afternoon the contractors waited upon Sir O. Gibbes, the representative of the Government sent to the coast on this matter, and he Baid be could not promise their debts would be liquidabd before Parliament met, and that then they would probably have to wait another five months. Besides all this, these contract ore now have contracts in hand for the Board amounting to £600.
