MASTERTON.
This day. A six-roomed cottage owned by Mr C. Gifford, of Napier, was burned with all its contents yesterday afternoon. The origin of the fire is unknown. The house was occupied by a man named Holloway and his family. The wife heard a crackling noise while in her bedroom, and ran into the kitchen. The furniture was uninsured, but the house was insured in the New Zealand Go.'Jor £125.
