This day. Arrived, at the Heads: Soukar, from London. Affairs in the City Council reached a climax this morning. The Gas Committee werejdefeated on their own recommendation respecting new works, and one of their number proposed that they should be requested to resign in a body. After an extremely violent personal discussion, the motion was carried by seven to four, the committee voting for their own extinction.
