Alfred Meyde, for forgery, was sentenced to three years; Tooria, a native, for wholesale sheep stealing, to three years ; Paratinu, a native, for breaking and entering, to fire years. John Fitzgerald, for larceny, had his sentenced reserved. A true bill was entered against William Good, for maliciously wounding a steer. This day. Arrived, this morning: The steamer City of Sydney, and, after taking on the mails, she sailed at one p.m. At the Police Court this morning, Edwards, the pedestrian, was charged with committing wilful and corrupt perjury, by swearing at the R.M. Court yesterday that his signature to a cheque was a forgery. It was stated that a warrant had been issued in Wellington for his arrest, but the Court decided, however, in the absence of the warrant, that it could not take action on the telegram, and dismissed the case. Edwards sailed by the mail steamer, for 'Frisco, this afternoon.
