A.R.C. Summer Meeting.
Auckland, Yeßterday. Stewards' Handicap, of lQOsovs, 1| miles : Yuba Bill, 1; Salvage, 2. Maori also ran. The cup winner was favorite, 2 to 1 being offered on him. The race proved as complete a surprise as any of its predecessors. An even start was obtained, and Maori went to the front, followed by Yuba Bill and Salvage. At the stand, however, Salvage went up close without an effort, and the race was between these two. It was a grand contest, both flogging up the straight, but Yuba Bill won by a length. Time, 2mins sOsecs. Totalisator dividend £2 18s.
Consolation Handicap, 5030v5., once round : Bewi, 1; Envious, 2; Fishwomnn, 3. Totalisator dividend, £3 ss.
This brought to a conclusion the A.B.C. Summer meeting—the most successful and interesting which has erer been held on the Ellerslie Bace Course.
