A serious calamity, it is reported, has occurred in Duke Timor mine, near Maryborough, yesterday morning, when four men lost their lives. ' Sydney, Tuesday. Return of tho Premier. Arrived, on Sunday evening: The Union steamship Wairarapa, from Auckland. Sailed, this afternoon: The s.s. Hauroto, for Wellington. Major Atkinson and Mr Whitaker are among the passengers. The action for libel, Cook v. Larnach, M.H.E., for Dunedin, is now proceeding.
