The enquiry into the loss of the Triumph has been adjourned till Friday week j none of the parties being prepared. Mr Edwin Ilesketh comes from Wellington on Saturday to appear for the captain, while Mr Hudson Williamson conducts the case on the other side. The Bench consists of Mr Seth Smith, and Captains Frater, and James (of the Antares).

There was a rery large attendance at the sale. William Aitken, who bought the hull and engines for £21C0, and the refrigerator for £320, i 3 bettered to be acting as agent for the New Zealand Freezing Co. Messrs J. C. Firth, George Fraser, Dr Campbell, Aitken, and others, are said to be concerned in the speculation.

The cargo, including two machines worth £500 each, 300 tons of iron, and a quantity of coal, were bought by Mr Oxenham for £110.
