A Press telegram from Hokitika says that the late rains have enabled the Hum* j phrey's Gully United Gold Mining Company to have a week's sluicing from their small supply race, with the result of securing 21ozs of gold. The directors have agreed to accept the proposal of a party of .miners to work this layer tribute. The hydraulic pumping engines iv the main shaft; are now working, and prove themselves able to cope with the water easily. Sinking will be resumed to-morrow- The sharemarket ia very dull; no operations.
