NELSON.

This day.

A small vessel painted green, of about 15 tons, supposed to be the Southern Cross is ashore on the Nelson side of the French Pass, and is a total wreck ; nothing is known as to the whereabouts of the crew, but the Southern Cross was owned by a Mr Turner, who would be in charge, with one man ; he would have been on his way from the Sounds to Nelson, and may probably have returned home by boat.
