The Government has received a telegram from Major Atkinson stating that he proposed leaving for New Zealand by the next trip of the Hauroto, from Sydney, arriving at Wellington on the 23rd. The Hon. Mr Bryce has arrived at Eawhia, and it is expected that his detention there will be for some weeks, arranging matters in connection with the Native Department. Probablay MrEolleston will leave here shortly to meet Mr Bryce. . In the Appeal Court, judgment was given in the case of the National Bank v. Ward (Ticnara). The judgment in favor of the Bank being set aside.
