This day. The Eotomahana made a successful trial trip to the Ocean Beach and back, Steamjng at the rate of 16| knots. In the course of the proceedings* Mr Boss, Chairman of the Harbor Board, said that
the barque Mataura would be the first Home ship to load cargo at the Dunedin wharves. A seven-roomed house at Caversham, unoccupied, and owned by Mr Townsend, of North East Valley, was burned down this morning. It was insured in the South British for £335.
