BsiSBANE, This day. Sir Thomas Mcliwraith, : Premier, re cognising the weakness of his party in the new Parliament, has tendered the resignations of himself and his colleagues, these hare been accepted by the GdVernor, and His Excellency has sent for Mr Griffiths to form a new Ministry.
Melboubne, This day. Heavy rain has fallen without intermission during the aight.
Pumping operations on board the steamer Rodonda hare been successful, and the vessel is now afloat.

his Excellency referred to New Guinea and the Pacific Islands, saying that lie believed a firm and united expression of opinion on the part of the colonies would lead to the annexation of those islands. Reference was made to the satisfactory condition of the colonial finances, and a number of bills of local importance were promised. In the Legislative Council to day the Address«nn-Reply was adopted. Unpropitious weather for the holiday was experienced here to-day, heavy rain having fallen during several hours. The position of the steamer Rodondo is unchanged. Pumping commenced last night, but with little success, and the salvage of the vessel and cargo is doubftul.
