NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL.
The first breaking down of No. 2 reef west of the break in the 11th stope above No. 5 level took place this morning, and the encouraging result of a hundred" weight of good specimens was bagged.
MARINER." The manager a few days ago commenced sinking a winze on the cross leader at No. 4 level, at a point where most gold was seen in driving. This is now down about 9ft, and in breaking down to-day, the leader, which is abont 9 inches wide, showed good colors of gold. The quartz also carries a good deal of favorable mineral. KURANUI HILL. The eastern drive from the Belfast section on Ho. 9 reef, tunnel level, is being pushed ahead, and the lode is improving in appearance. It has now opened out to a width of 4 feet, and though a little split up at present gold is seen at each breaking. The precious metal is not confined to one portion, but colors are seen from hanging to footwall. A supply of coal having been received, the battery will start on Monday. GOLD RETURNS. ; , Pinafore.—Delahunty and party, who are tributing on a small leader, have crushed 2 loads of quartz for the good yield of 17ozs. 15dwts. gold. - Thames Golt>en jQsowff.—McKenzie and party have banked 2ozs7dwts gold.
