« This day. His Excellency, the Governor returned from New Plymouth at noon.
Arrived : Westland, from London, with emigrants; all well. It is reported that at a recent meeting of natives at Kawhia, Hone Te One declared himself in favor of opening tip the country, by means of the telgraph, roads, and the leasing of lands. Tawhiao who was present at the meeting did not attempt to reply to.Hone.;
