WELLINGTON.
This day. A daughter of Mr J. Gorrie, farmer, of Whitemau's Valley, near the Upper Hutt, died suddenly on Saturday. She had been to Wellington, and on returning home complained of b^ing ill. She retired to bed, and in a few minutes called out for assistance, remarking that she was dying. Assistance was rendered, but she died Jilmosfc immediately. Medical opinion is thejwmptoms are those of poisoning, but no£bjl|fjs known how it could have been taken. It is probable a post mortem examination and inquest will take place to-day.
Out of twelve candidates the following gentlemen have passed at the April examination of the New Zealand Pharmacy Board, held at four centres :—Messrs Wilton, Marion; Hobden, Chriatchurch ; MacAlister, Inrercargill ; Kenderdine, Dunedin; Clarke, Auckland; and Warburton, Auckland.
Mr J. K. Brown, C.E., will' represent Wellington at the Conference of Delegates to be held in Melbourne in connection with the Irish National League.
