Melbourne Cup.
The following is the latest betting on the Cup:—Calma, 8 to 1, First Demon 10 to 1, Aide de Camp 12 to 1, LeGrand 12 to'l. But little is doing on the Derby; Sardius is firm at 8 to 1.
Melbouene, Yesterday. The trial of Richard Corbett for the robbery of bullion from the safe at the Commercial Bank of Australia was concluded to-day. The prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to six years' penal servitude.
Aibany, Yesteday.
Arrived, this afternoon : The P. and O. steamship Ballarat, with the inward mails daten Londan, Sept. 21.
