_ The third stope over the eastward drive yielded SOlbs of specimens this afternoon. The lead is about the same siae as usual; from four to sfcg in&hea. It has now beeri d/iveß. on a total distance of 303 feet, and for. the whole of that length has yielded payable grade quartz, so there should be a large remunerative block to take out underfoot.
NEW PBINCE IMJEKUt. The shaft is now tinaborfid within a few feet of th,e s.qjflaee, and the men to-day were engaged puddling behind the timbers - with clay, so as to prevent the surface water soaking through and running dowa the shaft in wet weather. The engine is on position, aad; the other works are ia full swing. Xke manager expects to he able to, start the machinery about Monday next. In the wiazo being sunk from the surface on the Mariner's reef for ventilation there is a nice body of quartz 18 inches wide, which is beiag sared for treatment, j
