In the House of Assembly last night, the Colonial Treasurer introduced an amended scheme of. taxation. A part of the proposal is as follows : Imposition of a tax of one halfpenny in the pound on real property ; a tax of one penny in the pound on the gains or profits arising from personal property or income.
Bbisbane, This day.
The revenue of Queensland for the September quarter amounted to £709,000, being an increase of £59,750 compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The receipts from Customs have increased by £10,OCO, and the railway revenue shows an increase of £30,000.
Sydney, Yesterday. The New South Wales revenue for the quarter bndfd September 30 amounted to £1,390,000. being a decrease of £360,000 compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The revenue for the year' amounted to £6,700,000, being a decrease of £552,000 compared with the revenue for the previous twelve months. The receipts from land show a decrease of £900,000,—that from other sources were well maintained.
Melbourne, Yesterday. Harry Thomas, who attempted to commit suicide at the Bank of Victoria in this city yesterday, had a grievance against the manager of the branch bank at Heathcote.

Arrived, this evening : The P. and O. steamship Mirzapore, with the inward mails, dated London, 24th August.
Richard Corbett was brought up at tho Police Court to-day and committed for trial on a charge of robbing the Commercial Bank of Australia on the night of the 18th ult., the case is to be heard at the Supreme Court on the 15th inst.
At a meeting of the Melbourne Presbytery to-day, Dr Morrison tabled a motion declaring that the resolution passed by the members of Scots Church at a meeting held last Wednesday deciding to secede from the Presbyterian Church of Victoria and revert to the position previous to the act of the Union, is irregular and ultra, vires.
