MASTERTON.

• This day. An indignation meeting of the Masterton volunteers was held last evening,, to protest against the conduct of Major Bunny on the occasion of the visit of His Excellency the Governor to Masterton. About 40 persons were present. Captain Donald presided. After several condemnatory speeches had been made, the following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That the Masterton volunteers, after the treatment they received from Major Bunny on Thursday last, tender their resignation in a body." A petition was drawn up to the Minister for defence, stating the reasons for the action, and was signed by all present.
