Bbisbane, Yesterday. The meat preserving works at Bock* hampton was totally destroyed by fire to» day. The loss is estimated at £90,000, of which £25,000 was covered by insurance. The following are the policies held by New Zealand offices :—Colonial Insurance, £2.100; three-fourths reinsured. The works were/ situated at Lake Creek. The entire nlant, compris ing several large buildings, were totally destroyed, only some machinery being saved.
