Karangahake.

[By Teleg-eaph.] (fkom ottk own correspondent) . This day. The Hauraki battery started working two shifts yesterday morning. Have no report as to how the stuff is shaping, but everything is going satisfactorily. The wire tramway is working well. The Ivanhoe is breaking out a trial crushing of from 7 to 10 tons, which will be forwarded to the battery as soon as the Hauraki Company has cleaned up, which it is expected will be in about five weeks' time. A good reef has been opened up in the Excelsior claim. The lode is about 12 inches thick, and it is estimated to be worth 3ozs to the ton.
