FINDING OF HARRIS' BODY.

The boat's crew despatched yesterday in search of the body of the unfortunate young man Harris, who was accidentally drowned on Saturday afternoon last; came back at 7 o'clock last night,, their search having been unsuccessful. The Harbormaster sent out the boat again this morning at about 9 o'clock, manned by Messrs Caleb Robinson, Fred.' Arnold, and Ai Gallagher, with instructions to proceed to the Piako mud-flat, that being

the most likely place for the body to be found. They were on their way over, and when about two miles from the Piako telegraph towerß, Arnold noticed a black speck in the water at a distance of about 150 yards. A glass was at once brought to bear on it, and as it bore some resem blahce to the object of their search, they sailed towards it, and found it to be the body of deceased. It was floating face downwards, only the back of the head being above water, and had evidently been lying on the flat all night, the nostrils, mouth, and eyes being full of mud. The features were recognisable, and the face had not been eaten away at all, though the flesh was black and '{puffed up. The'occupants of the boat lifted the body into it, and at once started to come back, reaching the Goods Wharf at about half-past 11 o'clock. The body was at once convqyed to the Gover nor Bocren Hotel, where it remained in charge of the police.
