Mr Gordon Gooch's Operatic Class performed " Lurline" last night to a packed house. Mrs Kilgour's singing was applauded to the echo.
Several cases of typhoid fever are re* ported in Newmarket district.
At the Gospel temperance meeting on Saturday oiftht it was stated that 4000
persons are enrolled in the Blue Eibbon Army in the Provihco of Auckland.
A request from a number of Auckland members was put through Sir Geo. Grey, asking Messrs Shera and Co. to allow Davy to join the Auckland football team, as his presence was essential to Auckland's success. The firm replied that business would not permit his absence.
