The police are pressing the anti-i Sunday liquor law. Gillander of the Pacific Hotel was fined £10 to-day for a breach of it. A cablegram reports that the s.s. Aus« tralia with the outward San Francisco mails arrived on the 7th, two days ahead of contract time. The Secretary of the Regatta Commit* tee has writtento the Australian Yacht Club, stating that a prize of £200 will be offered at the next regatta if th/e Australian yachts will come over to compete for "it." .
