■.■■■.; This day. At a meeting of school teachers held last night over one hundred were present. The business was the consideration of a resolution passed by the Board of Education, to the effect that the regular holidays should be curtailed. The feeling of the meeting was adverse to the resolution of the Board, and it is considered that if the Board's resolution is pressed a general strike of school teachers will ensue. The Carr Bankruptcy.

At the Supreme Court Bankruptcy Sittings held yesterday, the case of Thomas William Carr, of Te Aroha, was beard. On an application being made for the debtor's discharge, the report of the trustee (Mr B. E. Davis) was presented. It stated that the debtor commenced business at Te Aroha in June, 1882, representing himself to possess a capital of £5000, whereas his only capital was borrowed money from friends in England for which claims had been sent in. Besides this the general trade books had been so badly.kept aa to be •■ a disgrace to anyone in the trade." The debtor had also been guilty of reckless trading, and he had raised money to meet engagements by giving mortgages and bills of sale over the whole assets, when "he must or should 'have known that he was insolvent." la view of these facts the order was refused, the debitor being allowed to get his discharge by effluxion of time, which means three years,
