[Received August 6j 12.15 p.m.] Mecboubne, This day. Th 9 Irish. Informers. - Honion and Kavanagh have admitted that they were placed on board thesteamship Pathan by the London detectives. Smith, bound for Sydney denies his identity, and his manner, yesterday was most violent. The relations existing between the captain and officers of the Pathan and the police have improved. The Pathan sails to-day for Sydney. Communications are passing between Mr Service, Victorian Premier, and Mr Stewart, Premier of New South Wales, with a view to co-operation in the settlement of this difficulty^ The latest information regarding the informers is (hat Cavanagh and Hanlon have signed an agreement consenting to their friendly deportation beyond, the Australasian colonies. Melbottbne, Saturday. The following further scratohings for the Melbourne Cup have been posted .— Stubbley's Little Jack and Comet. Captain Eleanor, of the Pathan, interviewed Mr James Service to-day, and protested strongly against the action of the Government in preventing the landing of the Irish informers, who were passon*' gers by the Pathan. His efforts were, I however, without avail, and be has since refused to supply cither food or water to the police who are stationed on board the vessel. The Government will come to A final decision in the matter on Monday; and meanwhile the Invincibles will be compelled to remain under police super* vision on board the steamer. • >4 ;., Sydney, Saturday. Sir Henry Parkes, who is now in Lon«« don, is making arrangements with the Orient Company for the despatch of a large number of emigrants to this colony by the Orient liners. H.M.S. Kelson has arrived here; from the New Hebrides Islands.
