The contractors in the winze at Hio. 8* level are making good headway, having ■-> sunk 25ft since starting. MOANATAIBI. The manager reported for last week ar follows:--"On Monday last two men* commenced stoping No. 9 reef immediately above tunnel level in Beds*

■ection.,. Two others .haTe.been put on since. There is a very promising, well mineralised body of quartz, 2it in thickness, some of which has shown many colors of. gold since we started here, and there is no doubt hut some has been broken apart from what we have seen, as most of the reef has to be blasted. I hope to be able to get a parcel through the mill next week, wben its value will be ascertained.. Tho men who were sloping No. 9 above 80ft level bare been removed to tnnnel level, awaiting the result of a trial Jot, ■bout 12 tons, which we have on hand from this point.
