PAEROA.
- This day. A young man named Burton, teacher of the Owbaroa school, who was riding through Paeroa on Saturday evening last, fell from his horse, sustaining injuries that will render him incapable of resuming his occupation for , som,e time to Cf me. It appears that in cantering around a street corner his horse swerved rather sharply, throwing its rider head foremost to the ground.. When picked up he appeared to be quite dead, and was utterly unconscious until a late hour in the evening. He was carried to the Commercial Hotel, where Mr and Mrs Coote, Mr Sullivan, and Constables Graham and Law sue* ceeded, by their unremitting attentions, in restoring him to consciousness. Dr Cooper, who was absent on a professional visit, returned last evening, and upon examining the patient pronounced the case to be concussion of the brain, but not so severe as to be attended by serious consequences.
