hat M. Bouree, the French Ambassador to Pekin, has arrived at Shanghai, and has had a conference with Li Hung Chung, the. Chinese Prime Minister, on the subject of State affairs at Tonquin. No particulars of the interview have yet transpired. Telegrams hare been received here from Tonquin that the French garrison at Hanoi has been reinforced by 1500 men.
London, June 8. The British shipowners' committee have decided to persist in carrying omt the formation of a second Suez canal by a British company, despite the promises which have been made by Baron de Lesseps and tb'e Canal Company. The Bank of England have arranged to commence inscribing the New South Wales loanjon July Ist.
A portion of the cargo of frozen meat, ex Garonne, was sold at auction to-day, and realised an average price of sd. The meat was in good condition.
