This day. Mr Fergus addressed his constituen|s at Queenstdwn last night, and received a unanimous rote of confidence. He considered the Government had been too lax during the recess iv pushing forward public work*. It wai simply awful to see
the languid pace at which Otagq Central was progressing. The reform of the Upper House demanded immediate attention. He favored election by large.districts, and members to be elected for not less than seven years. Vickersis still uncaptured; he was at a whare on the flat 10 miles from town, and slept at a settler's hut there.
