Yesterday. No intelligence Iras yet been obtained as to the missing surveyor, Mr Carkeek, who a few days ago disappeared somewhere to the northward' of Taranaki. The telegrams received by Government from the locality up to a late hour last night report that there are still no tidings of the missing man. A search party has been out looking for him, but so far without success. Mr Garkeek was on his way from New Plymouth towards Mokau when he so mysteriously disappeared, and the first search party has been trying to follow him toward Pukerahu and the Mokau. A second search party has been ordered out, and will start as scon as the weather moderates sufficiently, it having been exceedingly* stormy in that locality. The second party will follow Mr Carkeek's trail as far as possible in the Mokau direction.
