Departure of the Governor from Auckland.
The Governor and vice-regal party left in the Hinemoa for the South at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The Volunteer force formed a guard of honor. The Kail way wharf was crowdedjwith about 3000' people. As the carriage containing the Governor, family, and suite, reached the wharf, the Volunteer band played the National Anthem> and the Battery fired a salute of 17 guns. The Mayor received the vice-regal party at the gangway, and escorted Lady Jervois on board. On the steamer were congregated a number of members of the Legislature, leading, citizens, and Bishop Cowie, Monsignore Fynes, and other clergymen, who paid their adieus. As the Hinemoa slowly steamed from the wharf, three hearty cheers were given for the Governor, and cheering was kept up till the vessel got fairly under weigh. His Excellency bowed his acknowledgements, and lifted his hat in response to the cheers, the band playing " Auld Lang Syne."
