The City Council last night discussed the advisability of bringing the Contagious Diseases Act into operation, but nothing decisive was arrived at.
The dispute, re tramway, has been settled amicably. The Land Board to-day declined to issue licenses of pastoral deferred payment sections at Strath Taieri to D. E. Fisher and Joseph McKay. A.K.Kimbell, for himself and other .unsuccessful bidders at the February sale, wrote suggesting, the appointment of a.
