[Received May 2, 2 p.m.] ; London, May 1 (evening), i The trial at Dublin of James Fitzharris, one of the Phoenix Park prisoners, was finished to%day. The jury retired, and after a short deliberation' brought in a verdicl of hot guilty of the murder of Lord Cavendish and Mr Burke. Amsterdam, May 1. Amsterdam Ezhibitioa. The International Exhibition was epened here to-day with great iclat. The various Colonial Courts are well arranged, and make a splendid show of the products of the colonies.
London, May 1 Telegrams have been received from Hongkong reporting that great excitement prevails throughout China in consequence of the state of eflairs in Tonquin, and the actions of the French Government in pushing its claims in that country. French men-of-war have been warned of the atti« tude of the Chinese, and ordered to keep a watch upon the coast. Owing to the slow progress which has been made with the Affirmation in lieu of the Oaths Bill in the House of Commons, the Premier has given notice that ho will move that precedence be given to the measure. The Eev. G. H. Connor, M.A., Dean of Windsor, who has been seriously ill, is now dying. London, April 30. A further portion of the frozen mutton, ex Cuzco, was sold to-day. Meat at good quality brought 4|d to 4f d, and inferior 2£dperlb. '

So many of the Irish prisoners have volunteered to become informers that the Government is seriously embarrased in selecting those whom it accepts as Queen's evidence. A man named Keefe has: been executed for a murder at Cork. , . Tne Republique Francaise believes that New Guinea will be made a penal settlement, and it treats the annexation as an accomplished fact. At a caucus of the dynamite faction in America, O'Donovan Rossa declared that the plans for carrying out further outrages were matured.
