In the Assembly on the 17th, Sir Henry Parkes moved a resolution for an address to the Queen, disapproving of the recent disloyal agitations in Ireland and this colony, Upon this Mr Stuart moved the previous question, which was carried by 48 Tto 2&. It was held that the motion was unnecessary. The success of Mr Redmond had not been so great as that he should be elevated to a pedestal. Mr Redmond had undermined the loyalty of no one, and he would go back a sadder and wiser man. The debate on the ques* tion whether Mr E. A. Baber, late Minister of Mines, had been rightly expelled from the House, after occupying some time, was adjourned. Archbishop Yaughan who is a pas* senger by the City of New York, has been presented with a number of valedictory addresses and testimonials, amounting to about £3000. The entire debt on St. St. Mary's Cathedral has been paid off. Preparations are being made for the jubilee next month of the introduction of Congregationalism into Australia. Mr Redmond is experiencing some difficulty in obtaining the use of suitable halls in country townships. He continues to collect monies to remit to Dublin. ■ Melboubne, April 19.
