WELLINGTON.
This day.
Major Atkinson will not have time to deliver any addresses in the North Island either on general politics or on his National Assurance scheme. He will shortly be absent for a few days in order to address his constituents at Taranaki, but he will probably remain in Wellington during the rest of the time before the opening of Parliament.
j It is after all likely that Parliament will meet for the despatch of public busi* ness at a date nearer the Ist than the 14th of June. The day has not yet been fixed, but the contractors for additions to the Parliamentary buildings will be hastened on to complete work as soon as possible.
