(Via the Bluff.) (Pee Pbess Association.) [Age Specials.] London, April 10. A deputation has waited upon Sir Chas. Dilke, President of the Local Government Board, to urge upon the Government the necessity of immediate action with regard to assisted emigration. In reply Mr Dilke said that the Government had already given the matter their earnest consideration, and had decided upon a course which would/ they trusted, meet the views of those who were takiug a prominent part in the movement.* The Government proposed in the first place to send a-onumber of children belonging to pauper classes to Canada, and should this experiment prove successful, the extension policy would be considered.

■The Cabinet 'has a proposal under consideration for the purpose of extending the money order system in connection with post offices in the colonies ; there is every probability of it being agreed to.

The respective Governments of Italy .and Switzerland have resolved to adopt a policy of protection.

A banquet was given in the Guildhall in honor of General Wolseley and Admiral Seymour. The gathering was a highly representative one, and included many prominent men in the Kingdom. The object of this proposal is to remove ordinary financial affairs from the arena of discussion for a time, so that the Eeichstag may have a better opportunity of discussing a scheme for certain social reforms, which the Emperor considers urgently needed. :
