CAMBRIDGE.
Saturday. Judgment was given today in the Whakamaru rehearing. The case of the applicants, Dr Buller's clients, was dismissed, and the original claimants, represented by Mr Sheehan, confirmed in pos session. At the close of the judgment, Dr Buller made a pointed objection to the conduct of the assessor, and threatened to appeal to the House of Representatives. The Chief Judge said the remark made was most improper, seeing that Dr Buller had given no explanation as to vis grounds of objection. Dr Buller replied t .at he was prevented from doing so, as it would be deemed disrespectfult to the Court. The Chief Judge said that in that case Dr Buller should have refrained from making any remarks on the subject at this late stage of the proceedings/He also said that each of the three presiding Judges had been allowed to arrive at his own individual conclusions, and that it was found that the native assessor, whose conduct had beeu so unjustly reflected on, was the only one who setforth auy plea on behalf of Dr Boiler's clients, and it was only after an urgent conference on the subject had taken place that these objections were removed. That would show him bow very unfair the remarks made against the assessor were. Dr Buller said he did not mean to reflect on the assessor in this case, but another assessor altogether. The. Waiotu subdivision cases come on this afternoon, "when the Court will adjourn for six days, to enable the Chief Judge to proceed \o Auckland.
