Court to-day a man named McQuire sued Cohen, the owner of a tbtalisator, for £3, being a dividend on a race at the last Jockey Club meeting, which plaintiff neglected to apply for the day after the races. Payment was refused on several grounds, the principal of which being that the ticket was not pr« : sented immediately after the race. Coun • sel for defendant pleaded that the Jockey Club should have been sued. Judgment was given for the defendant with costs, on the point that Cohen was employed by the Jockey Club, and, .therefore, was not liable.
