An inquest was held on Saturday at Ureni on the body of John Rig by, who was drowned on his way to Mokau on Friday. The jury found the following verdict: —"Deceased was accidentally drowned while trying to swim his horses round the point at Pairauihi; " and added the following rider : " Tue jury would call tffe attention of the Government to the fact of there being no road beyond the camp to White Cliffs, and that travellers to.Mokau are subjected to great risk of life by having to go round such a dangerous point on the sea-beach,"
