This day. The Wellington brings 377 immigrants. One of them, named Phoebe Newton, a single woman, died of heart disease. Sailed : The Kiandra, for Madras. Yesterday, The New Zealand Refrigerating Company will recommence freezing operations on Wednesday to furnish a cargo for the steamer Feustautou, which will leave about the end of April, with between 9000 and 10,000 carcases. The Hon. Mr Dick goes North to morrow. It is now stated that at next session of the Assembly a commission will he moved for to inquire into " Dummyism." The Dunedin and suburban gasworks, which are situated at Caversham, and are a private speculation intended for the supply of suburban boroughs, are now completed. Everything is ready for the distribution of gas, which will be made to the two boroughs on the 20th iust. Advices have been received by the mail that three large steamers, of 5000 tons each, have been ordered by the Shaw, Saville, and Albion Company from W. Bentley and Co., of the Clyde, to be employed in the New Zealand shipping trade. They are to be fitted up iv the best style for the passenger trade, and will have the electric light, &c.; they will also be fitted with refrigerators for carrying meat in laree quantities. They will do the voyage in 45 days.
