CHRISTCHURCH.
Yesterday. An adjourned annual meeting of the Temperance Hall Company (Limited) was held lest night. The balance-sheet was adopted after some discussion. It showed a loss on the working of last year of £391, and an excess of £1567 liabilities over assets. A motion recommending the directors to consider the advisability of calling for tenders to lease the hotel was lost by a considerable majority, who look hopefully to future success. Notice of city rates due has been served on the Freethought Hall, formerly a German church.
