DEEP LEVEL CROSS.

Retorting for the month took place this afternoon for the good return of 3270zs lOdwts gold, for which about 144 loads of general stuff and 14Olbs picked stone hare ! been treated.. The stopes continue to produce good crushing dirt, colors being seen all along, andafewstonebagged. Thehangingwall lead is being stoped for a few feet from the junction ,• it looks well, showing gold when broken. At No. 4 le?el tha drire on it is in about 20. feet, and it is fully 2 feet wide in the face, composed of good-looking quartz. No gold has been acen for the last few feel, but the stone is well mineralised. It has taken a turn to the northward, which, would carry it away from the Imperial boundary. A small leader on the hangingwall is also being worked, from' which a few stones showing good dabs of gold are obtained.
