The Governor's Trip.

Timabu, This day. The Governor arrived here by special train from Christchurch at one o'clock. He was met by the Mayor and Councillors, who presented an address ; it was raining heavily and the school children did not turn out to sing the National Anthem as intended. There was a large muster of the public present at tho reception which was most enthusiastic. The Artillery Band played the National Anthem. The Governor was driven to the Grosvenor Hotel, where apartments have been secured for him by the Town- Council. He holds an undress levee this afternoon.
