Sir Arthur Again.

Sir Arthur Gordon is still in London says the European Mail, and his time if fully occupied in visiting his numerous friends. Vanity Fair gives an amusing story of the late Governor of New Zealand, which may be new to many of our readers: —" While cruising about in one of Her Majesty's ships during the time !,c> was Governor of Fiji his relations with ihe cuptain were, to say the least of it, strained. The captain calmly replied that all ceremonies and compliments commenced at 8 a.m., and that it was then past that hour. The Governor did not love the captain more for his politeness."
